With the election of Mr Hoaglin, American Electric Power’s (AEP) board now has 14 members, 13 of whom are outside directors. Michael Morris is the only inside director.
Mr Hoaglin joined Huntington as president and CEO in February 2001 and was named chairman later that year. Following Huntington’s acquisition of Sky Financial Group in July 2007, Mr Hoaglin was named chairman and CEO.
Mr Morris, chairman, president and CEO of AEP, said: Tom Hoaglin’s experience at some of the larger US-based banking organizations and the management and financial insight he can contribute make him a very valuable addition to our board of directors.
