“We take pride in the fact that sustainability is at the heart of every project, so we are delighted to be part of this project,” said AECOM President and Chief Executive Officer John M. Dionisio.
AECOM’s contract fee was not disclosed. In order to meet its sustainability objectives, the MIN development will use 100% renewable energy sources, advanced design and technology integration of building and infrastructure systems, and a fundamental shift in day-to-day behavior towards maintaining a sustainable community.
The MIN development is adjacent to the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and will include residential, hospitality, commercial and retail developments as well as parks and playgrounds.
Masdar is an UAE-based energy company that develops low-carbon solutions. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company.
