The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced that it has agreed to provide US$1.8M in technical assistance grants for China’s water projects.

The Manila-based bank said that the Heilongjiang Water Supply Project will reduce water shortages and improve the water quality in Harbin and Mudanjiang.

The eventual project will involve the construction of two multi-purpose dams, along with raw water conveyance systems and water treatment plants, and will expand distribution networks.
