The project is in line with Rajasthan government’s commitment to achieve 25,000MW of renewable power generation capacity by 2022.
The Rajasthan government and Adani Renewable Energy Park will each own 50% stake in the JV, Adani Renewable Energy Park Rajasthan.
The proposed park is expected to see around INR600bn ($9.34b) in investments and it will create several direct and indirect jobs in the region.
This will house generation projects and a facility to manufacture solar module, parts and equipment.
Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani said: "This project will be India’s largest solar park and will also house manufacturing facilities to be set up under the country’s ambitious Make In India initiative. We have embarked upon a mission of becoming a world leader in renewable power generation technologies, with a special focus on solar.
"The development of Solar Park facility is our contribution towards realization of our Honorable Prime Minister’s campaign and commitment towards clean and green energy in India."
The project is expected to become operational by 2022.
Adani plans to generate 5000MW of clean energy in the proposed solar park.
