The system provides complete power protection and cooling to an onsite containerized datacentre.
The PowerHouse unit for this projects, is rated at 450kW and contains the company’s high efficiency CleanSource 250 kVA N+1 UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system; a diesel generator; switchgear; a cooling system; and monitoring and controls system.
Active Power Global Sales and Business Development vice president and general manager Martin Olsen said that with this full turnkey solution, the university was able to rapidly deploy additional IT capacity, power and cooling in a matter of a few months versus 12-18 months for a conventional brick and mortar build out.
"PowerHouse offers end users the next generation of mission critical grade power and cooling technology that requires less complexity versus a traditional component by component implementation." Olsen said.
"These systems are pre-assembled and tested at the factory, which dramatically reduces the time and cost associated with this type of implementation."
