Under the contract, Acciona will supply approximately 671GWh renewable electricity to facilities managed by Acuamed in 2016, including desalination plants in Almería, Alicante, Águilas and Valdelentisco; the potable water plant at Albacete; and the Júcar-Vinalopó water transfer station.

The company originally received a contract from Acuamed in 2011.

Acciona Green has also secured a deal with Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos (CLH) to supply electricity in 2016.

The contract will see supply of around 252GWh to 285 points along the group’s entire distribution network in Spain, which include transport and storage facilities, offices and other premises.

The Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC) will certify the power delivered to both customers as renewable.
