The 30MW solar project is expected to produce clean energy that can power around 5,000 homes, according to Abengoa.
Currently, Abengoa is involved in the construction of a 265MW photovoltaic plant for AES Solar in California.
Energias de Portugal, which is headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, is the majority stake holder of EDP Renovaveis.
EDP group has business interests in generation, distribution and supply of electricity and gas in Portugal and Spain.
