Abengoa Solar

Under the contract worth $365m, Abengoa provided the engineering, construction and commissioning services for the project that covers 801 hectares of land.

Equipped with more than three million PV modules, the project is said to be the world’s largest single-axis PV plant that would prevent the emission of 356,000 tons of CO2 per year into the atmosphere.

Electricity generated by the project would be enough to power about 72,000 households in San Diego and its surrounding area.

Abengoa has completed construction and commissioning of the solar power project, which has created more than 700 direct jobs in the area, within a period of 16 months.
