The alliance enhances ABC Laboratories’ regulatory testing offering in support of agrochemical pesticide development and strengthens the business development efforts of Genesis Midwest, the company said.

Genesis Midwest provides in-life design, implementation, and management of livestock and avian toxicology studies, while ABC provides analytical methods development, dose preparations, stability and residue analysis, and metabolite characterization and identification.

Livestock metabolism studies are required by the US EPA and the European Union when commodities from target crops are components in animal feed. Cattle or poultry feeding studies also may be triggered based on metabolism results.

Scott Ward, senior vice president and general manager of chemical services division at ABC, said: ”This alliance is good for both companies and for our clients. It enables ABC to offer our clients complete services for livestock feeding and metabolism studies, and expands the company’s ecotoxicological testing services to include avian toxicology.”

ABC believes that Genesis Midwest operation will benefit from the company’s sales and marketing efforts, which will contribute to Genesis Midwest’s business development.
