ABB said that since the launch of its Symphony Plus control in the market, the solution has secured orders from new power plants that cumulatively produce over 2,500MW of electricity.

In addition, the controls have been used to upgrade the existing systems to meet the evolving needs.

Symphony Plus is designed to match a wide range of plant configurations and it is flexibile and scalable to serve small and server-less applications, as well as large multi-system, multi-server architectures.

The solution supports easy integration of field devices, process and turbine automation systems, electrical and SCADA solutions and business and maintenance systems to provide a secure and reliable control environment.

ABB Power Systems division Power Generation business head Massimo Danieli said the market’s response to the Symphony Plus is encouraging.

"Reaching this important milestone in such a short time is a reinforcement of the confidence that customers have in Symphony Plus and we remain committed to safeguarding their investments," Danielli added.
