Under the $100m contract, ABB will design, supply and install three high-voltage AC 220kV three-core submarine cables with a total length of about 100km — 44 km from each of the platforms to shore and 11km between the two platforms.
The project, which is expected to enter service in 2018, will help boost wind power capacity of the country to over 40%, while meeting the needs of over 600,000 homes.
The offshore wind farm platforms Kriegers Flak A and B will be connected to Rødvig, in Denmark through ABB’s cable system.
