VPE is the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor of the thermal plant, comprising two 145 MW units.
Adularya Energy, part of Naksan is the owner of the Yunus Emre thermal power plant.
Under the terms of contract, ABB will design, engineer, install and commission the equipment which consists of complete electrical balance of plant and power outlet, including the high voltage switchyard.
The company will also provide power and auxiliary transformers, generator circuit breakers, medium and low voltage switchgear, protection systems, 380kV air insulated switchgear, and control and protection systems for the grid connection.
ABB Power Generation business head Franz-Josef Mengede said, "We will deploy the latest technologies, including our Symphony Plus automation and control platform, to maximize plant efficiency and reliability while minimizing environmental impact."
The power generated from the two units can be controlled using ABB’s Symphony Plus total plant automation system.
