Under the INR1720m ($27.8m) contract, ABB will help expand six other substations to enhance transmission capacity and improve power supply to address growing demand for electricity.
The company will build four new 132/33kV substations at Rangamati, Khagrachori, Bianbazar and Sunamganj.
The six existing substations will also be upgraded as part of the country’s ongoing Power Systems Expansion and Efficiency Improvement Program.
The program is expected to provide power to 450,000 households and reduce carbon emissions by almost 2.5 million tons per year.
ABB’s project scope comprises design, supply, installation and commissioning of the substations.
