The products designed for IEC 61850 standard use GOOSE services to significantly reduce the hardwiring, which helps to reduce costs, the company said.

GOOSE offers vast signal transfer capacity over Ethernet and significantly faster signalling response times from device to device.

These features enable GOOSE services together with Relion products to offer information exchange using existing IEC 61850­8­1 infrastructure for voltage control of parallel transformers in HV applications.

The company claims that GOOSE and Relion products also provide fast and reliable blocking-based busbar protection for MV applications.
