The new facility is expected to meet growing market demands driven by rapid urbanization and the growing industrial sector.
ABB Low Voltage Products division globally head Tarak Mehta said: "We see substantial growth opportunities for the low voltage business in Indonesia.
"The country’s strong economic growth prospects, coupled with a young population, is expected to increase demand in the residential, industrial and commercial construction sectors. Electricity demand grew by ten percent last year."
Featuring state of the art assembly automation and product testing equipment, the new facility will employ more than 200 people and has been developed as part of the company’s market penetration, innovation, expansion (PIE) growth strategy.
Miniature circuit breakers are an electro-mechanical device capable of protecting circuits from over voltage.
Currently, ABB operates a low voltage production facility in Cibitung.
