Electrical equipment manufacturer ABB has supplied and installed its PVS800 modular inverters to the Kayseri OSB (Organised Industrial Zone), a 51MP solar power plant in Turkey.

Kayseri OSB was constructed by Seferoglu Elektrik / Efektif Enerji as an EPC, using ABB PVS800 central inverter solution.

ABB has supplied 46 of its 1MW PVS800 central inverters, which are claimed to be highly efficient and cost-effective way for converting direct current (DC) generated from the solar modules into alternating current (AC) that can in turn transmit the electricity to the power distribution network.

Each of these inverters contain three power module and LCL filter sections that ensure redundancy in operations and smooth output voltage that adhere to Turkey’s national grid standards.

The inverters have been housed in concrete cabins to protect them from the local harsh weather conditions and also to meet the local requirements.

The company also claims that its PVS800 inverters consist of single service panel and many parallel compartments that are relatively easy to commission.

ABB Turkey Product Marketing manager Haluk Özgün said: “We have been the primary choice of many photovoltaic solar energy investors with our solar inverters and solar inverter package solutions since 2012, and have already delivered over 1GW of ABB solar inverters to PV projects in Turkey.

“Kayseri OSB is a leading Turkish organization, which believes in solar technology and has completed its investments in this field.”
