Switzerland-based power and automation group ABB is showcasing its various power distribution technologies and products at the biannual International Electricity Conference & Exhibition called CIRED.

The CIRED conference and exhibition is being held from 10 June to 13 June 2013 in Stockholm, Sweden.

CIRED provides a platform for the electric distribution community to hold discussions on global trends, technologies and future developments in the sector.

At the event, ABB will also present numerous technical papers and a range of power products for smarter power network.

ABB’s UniGear Digital is the key focus at the event. The solution combines medium voltage air-insulated switchgear with a new solution to protect, control, measure and digitalize communication in order to provide safe, flexible, eco-friendly and smart electrical network.

UniGear Digital equipped with IEC 61850 communication protocol is designed with components to reduce resources and minimize environmental impact.

The company has also exhibited its new SafeRing Air portfolio using ‘dry air’ as the insulation medium for applications up to 12kV at the event.

The switchgear’s design makes it suitable for use in compact secondary substations, light industry, building and infrastructure applications, among others.

ABB will also showcase its latest developments in grid and network automation and distribution management.
