Swedish-based ABB has acquired Mincom,an Australian software solutions provider in a bid to expand its portfolio in enterprise asset management (EAM) software and services.

ABB acquired the company from private equity group Francisco Partners for an undisclosed sum.

Mincom’s operations will be added to Ventyx, ABB’s dedicated software business, following the transaction, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Mincom provides solutions for applications such as EAM, mining operations and mobile workforce management.

ABB CEO Joe Hogan said Mincom’s acquisition is part of a strategy to continuously broaden the company’s software offering.

"Mincom helps us to increase the depth of our enterprise asset management offering, building our position as a leader in the key growth sectors of natural resources and energy," Hogan said.
