5N Plus, a producer and provider of metals and compounds for electronic applications, has secured $500,000 in funding from the State Energy Program of Wisconsin to purchase equipments for expanding its recycling activities and creating new jobs in DeForest, Wisconsin.

The company will use the funding to invest in its 60,500sqft facility that will recycle solar modules and will manufacture specialty compounds for thin-film PV applications.

The solar module recycling facility, which represents an investment of over $4m, will be operational in the coming weeks, thereby expanding the company’s footprint in the US.

5N Plus vice president, Nicholas Audet said that the DeForest plant enables the company to recycle solar panels and to provide cradle-to-cradle solutions to the PV industry and that it is thankful to the State Energy Program of Wisconsin for their support of 5N Plus.
