Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority has granted consent to Lundin Norway to drill exploration well 6307/1-1 S in the Norwegian Sea.

Lundin is the operator for production licence 830. We have given the company consent to drill exploration well 6307/1-1 S, which aims to investigate a prospect named Silfari.

The geographical coordinates are:

63° 55′ 15.85″ N

07° 18′ 10.05″ E

The well is to be drilled by Leiv Eiriksson, which is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the SS Trosvik Bingo 9000 type, owned and operated by Ocean Rig.

Leiv Eiriksson was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in July 2008.
