The firm has the water infrastructure contract in an international competitive bidding

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) water & effluent treatment business has secured a contract for the Al Dhakhlia Water Transmission System in Oman.

Under the contract, L&T will be responsible for the design and execution of a water infrastructure project for the phase II of Al Dhakhlia Water Transmission System.

L&T Construction said that the value of the contract ranges between INR10bn ($135.8m) and INR25bn ($339.5m).

It also said that the contract is a repeat order and the firm has won it in an international competitive bidding.

The work also includes installation of 173km of pipelines for water transmission along with the associated civil works, construction of 18 RCC water storage reservoirs, five pumping stations with associated mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation works.

L&T secures significant orders in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Saudi Arabia

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) power transmission & distribution business has also secured contracts in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Saudi Arabia.

The firm has secured a turnkey contract for design, supply, installation and commissioning of power transmission infrastructure for the 800MW Rupsha power plant in Bangladesh.

It has also secured an order to build 220kV substations in Nepal.

The company’s power transmission & distribution business has also won a contract to establish 380kV and 230kV transmission line corridors Saudi Arabia.

In India, the firm has won an order to design and construct a 50MW solar photovoltaic facility in Tamil Nadu the southern state in India.

In October last year, L&T through its power business arm, commissioned two thermal power units of 660MW capacity each for Indian public sector power utility NTPC.
