The project is located approximately 70 km north of Linköping, near the northern end of the Vättern Lake. The Zinkgruvan project will have a capacity of 53.2MW when completed and will supply approximately 40.000 Swedish households with fossil-free energy.

European Energy project director Thorvald Spanggaard said: “GE Renewables has worked very well on the project and so have our other contractors. That has allowed us to pass the milestone of erecting the first turbine within time and budget. Now we have to use the positive momentum for the erection of the next 13 turbines and the commissioning phase.”

The wind farm will consist of 14 GE Renewables turbines with a capacity of 3.8 MW and a rotor size of 137 meters and a hub height of 110 meters.
