AltaGas and WGL have received conditional approval from the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia for its proposed merger deal.

“We are pleased the DC PSC is prepared to unanimously approve the proposed combination of AltaGas and WGL,” said David Harris, President and Chief Executive Officer of AltaGas.

“The Commission indicated the written order will include certain additional conditions, in alignment with the unanimous settlement agreement. AltaGas will review the conditions so we are in a position to meet the Commission’s timeline for acceptance by settling parties within five days, upon which approval of the WGL Acquisition will be final.  We are confident that the combined company will deliver exceptional service at affordable rates to customers in the District, while promoting local employment and job creation in the energy sector and providing more clean energy choices to customers.”
