The environmentally friendly solar installations will be the foundation of a new type of simplified fixed-price renewable energy plan for large businesses, adding an innovative dimension to a proven product structure.

Under the new plan from NRG, customers receive dedicated, locally sourced renewable energy with flexible options that best meet a company’s business, sustainability and procurement needs. The plan features variable term lengths, the ability to procure up to 100% of a customer’s electricity usage from a renewable resource and naming rights to the designated facility. Cypress Creek will own and operate the facilities and deliver the electricity generated to NRG and its customers under power purchase agreements.

Cypress Creek has a portfolio of more than seven gigawatts of solar projects in development across the country. Additionally, the company offers an experienced in-house Engineering, Procurement and Construction team and a national Operations and Maintenance program.

NRG’s financial strength and energy industry expertise accelerate speed to market and help manage the risk associated with electricity production, to deliver a comprehensive, easy-to-tailor renewable energy plan to its commercial and industrial customers. By working with Cypress Creek, NRG has designed a solar solution that packages local attributes, cost effectiveness and environmental value into a simple retail product for large businesses.

Cypress Creek Renewables CEO Matthew McGovern said: “Cypress Creek is pleased to join forces with NRG to provide a locally sourced solar product to meet the needs of commercial and industrial consumers.

“Our deep portfolio of Texas solar projects, along with our engineering, procurement and construction and operations and maintenance services, deliver unparalleled value for customers.”

NRG business solutions senior vice president Robert Gaudette said: “This collaboration marks the future of widespread availability of commercial and industrial solar products in Texas, fulfilling the state’s promise of a customer-choice market design.

“Businesses want simplicity in renewables, and together with Cypress Creek, we will help bring them closer to their sustainability goals.”
