Under the terms of the contract, Aker Solutions will renovate, repair and upgrade offshore production units for Petrobras’ Campos Basin Operational Unit (UO-BC).

The Campos Basin extends approximately 100,000km². The three-year contract includes an option for a two-year extension.

The contract is also expected to allow Aker Solutions to showcase its value as a full-service provider, and manage the yard where replacement parts and other equipment will be fabricated.

Aker Solutions CEO Luis Araujo said: “We are pleased to expand our business in Brazil, a key international market.

“This is the second big contract we have signed after entering the maintenance and modification market in Brazil, reinforcing the importance of having a complete portfolio and being able to provide an integrated solution from concept to decommissioning.”

Aker Solutions will execute the work from its CSE Mecânica e Instrumentação (CSE) services base in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, in which the company acquired a majority stake in December 2016.

Earlier in 2018, Petrobras named CSE the best supplier for onshore and offshore maintenance and health, safety, security and environment (HSSE), underscoring its focus on customers and excellence. The company won four of 21 awards, competing against 5,000 suppliers.

Work on Petrobras oil and gas fields in the Campos Basin will commence in October 2018, and final deliveries are scheduled for 2021.

Aker Solutions will book the contract in the third quarter of 2018.

The company provides products, systems and services to the oil and gas industry globally. The company’s engineering, design and technology are aimed at bringing discoveries into production and maximizing recovery.

The company employs nearly 14,000 people in about 20 countries.

Recently, Point Resources has extended its EPC O&M contract with Aker Solutions. The contract between Point Resources and Aker Solutions was first signed in June 2012, covering the Jotun A, Jotun B, Balder and Ringhorne operating facilities in the North Sea.
