ABSG Consulting, a subsidiary of ABS Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate with a consortium of research, testing and certification bodies in Taiwan and advance technical knowledge and offshore wind capabilities in Asia’s second-largest offshore wind market.
The MOU was signed by a third party certification team organized by Taiwan’s Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, which includes CR Classification Society, Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center, Metal Industries R&D Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Electronics Testing Center, Taiwan, Taiwan Electric Research and Testing Center, and Taiwan Institute of Economic Research.
This collaboration with leading Taiwanese stakeholders will promote the exchange of technical information in the areas of offshore wind inspection and verification, safety and risk management and certification, as well as technology innovation.

With over 11 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind project experience, ABS Group subsidiaries provide technical services in the areas of design verification, quality assurance, mechanical integrity, equipment certification. In addition to these engineering capabilities, ABS Consulting and other ABS Group subsidiaries have provided risk-based guidance for wind safety and environmental risks and inspection procedures to government regulators worldwide. Since 2014, ABS Consulting has served as the Certified Verification Agent for the first U.S. offshore wind farm.
