Abengoa, the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the infrastructures, energy and water sectors, has been selected for the second consecutive time by the company Minera EXAR, dedicated to the extraction of lithium, for the construction of a medium voltage line in the highlands of the province of Jujuy, in the northwest of the country.

Abengoa, through its subsidiary in Argentina Teyma Abengoa, will be responsible for the provision of resources, camps, materials and equipment necessary for the construction of a 33 kV double line of approximately 60 km that will connect the Altiplano transformer station with the Minera EXAR transformer station located in Salar de Olaroz and that will power the extraction plant of one of the largest brine lithium deposits in the world.

This announcement comes after Abengoa recently announced another contract of electrical distribution works also for Minera EXAR. This way, the awarding of the new project consolidates the confidence of the mining company towards Abengoa, which remains in a leading position locally and globally in the electrical infrastructure market, in which it is executing projects of electrical installations at different voltage levels.

Abengoa has been present in Argentina for 50 years and has undertaken major projects in all the sectors in which it operates, mainly in the area of power transmission and distribution.
