An independent review by Mineral Services Canada has unveiled an approximate one million tonne resource expansion opportunity for the CH-6 kimberlite.
Any resource expansion at CH-6, coupled with the scale of the maiden resource declaration at CH-7 are contingent upon further exploration and evaluation work, which is underway as part of the summer drill program.
Existing drillcore from CH-6 and CH-7 is being sampled to enhance geological and microdiamond characterization of various kimberlite units and same sampling will be undertaken throughout approximately 1,200m of new core to be drilled shortly at CH-6 and CH-7.
Peregrine said successful integration of the core sampling results with the summer and winter bulk sample results will allow it to maximize the inferred resource estimates for both CH-6 and CH-7.
The company expects that diamond resource development data from the summer and winter programs of 2014 and 2015 could add about 2.5 million carats above 250m to the inferred resource at CH-6.
Peregrine has so far discovered 71 kimberlites at Chidliak project with eight being potentially economic.
