Canadian electric utility Hydro-Quebec plans to build five hydro power plants in northern Chile in the next few years. These plants are meant to supply electricity to Canadian-owned mines located in northern regions of the country.
The utility said that a second phase of the project would involve the construction of additional plants in southern Chile.
