Further Smith will be responsible for building envelope as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) for ESCO customers.
Prior to joining AEM, Smith was director of engineering and operations for DukeSolutions/Ameresco where he developed and managed numerous multi-million dollar contracts for a wide variety of industrial, commercial and governmental clients.
“Jim is an accomplished manager with more than 18 years experience in engineering, constructing and maintaining facility energy production, distribution and end use systems and equipment with a specific focus on energy and environmental cost reduction, ” stated John O’Rourke, chief operating officer of Lime Energy. “He is uniquely qualified to lead AEM and grow this business at a time when energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction are rapidly gaining prominence in the effort to lessen our dependence on foreign oil, improve our nation’s energy security, and incorporate climate change as a key component to any future energy plan. One of the key components of AEM’s delivery infrastructure is our regionally based Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) companies, operating under the name of Landmark Services, offering the majority of our design/build/construct services in major markets on the East Coast. AEM is particularly well positioned to work with our ESCO partners to implement the expected multi-billion dollar spending by federal and state entities on energy efficiency as outlined in the proposed Economic Stimulus Bill” concluded O’Rourke.
