Of the total investment, £31.8m was spent in the last 12 months alone.
The report revealed that almost two-thirds of the growing industry’s supply chain is Scottish with marine energy expected to be worth £50bn by 2050.
Scottish Renewables surveyed seventeen organisations working in marine energy to prepare the Marine Milestones report.
Scottish Renewables senior policy manager for offshore renewables Lindsay Leask said: "Wave and tidal energy is still very much the renewables new kid on the block, but the opportunities it presents are enormous, particularly for Scotland.
"These investment figures, revealed for the first time by our Marine Milestones report, show the significant economic benefits this young sector is bringing. Crucially, those benefits are staying local, benefitting communities and families who are looking to renewables for a sustainable future, both economically and environmentally."
In a separate release, Scottish Renewables proposed additional energy powers for Scotland in its post-referendum paper.
The paper details six key areas which the country’s £1bn-a-year renewable energy sector would like to see addressed after the result of independence vote.
It sets out the additional powers the industry wants to see in several areas including Energy Policy, Regulation, Connecting Scotland’s Islands, Shared Ownership, Marine Energy Funding and the Crown Estate.
