The projects will be owned by SunEdison or SunEdison affiliates, including Yieldcos.
The electricity generated from the projects will be sold to several entities through power purchase agreements (PPA’s).
SunEdison was one of 44 developers that have responded to KREDL’s tender for 500MW of grid-connected solar power plants.
KREDL intends to promote renewable energy and initiate all required actions for energy conservation in the state.
SunEdison Asia Pacific operations president Pashupathy Gopalan said: "This is yet another milestone in the journey of SunEdison in India to build a strong pipeline of projects that will be developed and commissioned in the coming years.
Gopalan added that the PPA’s are likely to be signed in the next two to three months.
SunEdison has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Government of Rajasthan, a state in India, for the development of 5GW of solar PV projects.
The company intends to construct mega solar projects, each 500MW or more, as part of the MOU.
SunEdison manufactures solar technology and develops, finances, installs and operates distributed solar power plants.
