The wind farm, owned by Pattern Energy Group, is located about 50km south of Québec City in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
The project will feature 46 Siemens 3.2MW direct drive wind turbines, which are expected to generate enough energy for about 27,000 homes in Québec per year.
Construction of the project is expected to start in the third quarter of 2016 with planned commercial operation in December 2017.
Pattern Development presently holds 100% stake of the project and it is expected that Pattern Energy will buy the full owned interest in the wind farm.
The addition of the project increases Pattern Energy’s Right of First Offer (ROFO) list to nine developments with a total owned capacity of 977MW.
Pattern Energy president and CEO Mike Garland said: "This addition pushes us past the 1,000 MW mark for projects in Canada that are either operating or have been added to our ROFO list – and all of which have been secured with long-term PPAs.
