The wind farm is being built on property owned by a group of local farmers in Pollock, South Dakota.
It will feature 55 1.7MW GE wind turbines that will generate around 400,000MWh of energy per year, enough to power 25,000 homes.
The wind farm, which is expected to start operations by the end of this year, is interlinked with the Western Area Power Administration transmission system.
The Basin Electric Power Cooperative will buy the energy generated from the facility under a 30-year power purchase agreement.
