The purchase order follows the supply and installation of a GEM condensate return system from Thermal Energy, earlier in the year. The King’s College Hospital Trust heat recovery project is expected to reduce 1,564 tonnes of CO(2) and lower energy consumption by over 8 million kW annually, providing a payback in little over 18 months for the Trust.
This project will reduce energy consumption for the Trust and help towards the key targets of reducing carbon emissions by 80% by the year 2050 now set by the UK Government, the company claimed.
Fergus Young, assistant engineering manager of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The King’s College Hospital Trust looks forward to a close working relationship on this project, after the previous successes with Thermal Energy at this and other hospitals in the UK, as well as internationally.”
