The sawmill, which supplies pinewood timber, currently operates a 14MW biomass-powered boiler.

In addition to supplying energy for the sawmill, the biomass-powered boiler also supplies eco-friendly district heating to one of the district heating networks operated by Tekniska Verken in Linköping, Sweden.

Opcon’s flue gas condenser will utilize waste heat that was previously not exploited and enhance the energy efficiency of KindasÃ¥gen sawmill.

Upon completion of the installation in this year, Södra is expected to increase its supplies of eco-friendly district heating from Kindasågen by around 2MW without having to use more fuel.

Opcon will deliver the equipment in late this year.
