The project intends to improve customers’ means to control and optimize electricity usage.
Upon finalizing the project in 2013, the remote reading system will include approximately 100,000 consumption sites.
The two-way communication based system increases the information on consumption patterns as well as on the functionality of the system, and it also enables meter reading by the hour.
NIB said the information obtained will be used to increase clients’ energy awareness and to improve the control and planning of electricity capacity.
