Located in Perryville, Maryland and Westampton, New Jersey, the two will rank amongst the largest commercial rooftop installations in the world.

Once complete the solar installations will increase their presence on IKEA locations to nearly 89% of the home furnishing retailers locations.

IKEA US pesident Mike Ward said the company is excited at the opportunity to increase solar energy systems at these two east coast distribution centers.

"These plans for installing solar panels on the roofs of two additional distribution centers demonstrate that our sustainable commitment extends beyond just stores, into all facets of the retail operations, " added Ward.

With a combined installation of 34,000 panels the two distribution centers will generate a total of 4.92MW of solar electricity equal to providing annual power supply to 510 homes.

It will potentially reduce 4,509 tons of CO2 emissions.

The Company has 17 solar energy systems operational in the US with another 20 planned.

Inovateus Solar has secured the installation contract for the two locations mentioned.
