The new facility is expected to produce 1GW of central inverters by the end of 2011, Power-One said.
In late 2010, the company has reported the launch of its central inverters specifically designed for the emerging Asian market.
The features of 250kW and 500kW utility grade central inverters include, a high efficiency of 98.3%, longer mean time between failures due to being electrolytic capacitor free, compact size and weight, touch screen display and a 1000Voc rating.
Power-One Renewable Energy Solutions president Alex Levran said that the Shenzhen factory will allow the company to strengthen its presence and expand its products designed for the large and growing Chinese and Indian markets.
