An existing 4MW Landfill Gas to Electricity facility was expanded to an 8MW facility and electricity produced will be sold to Green Power EMC under a 15 year Power Purchase Agreement.
"The Taylor County expansion fits in with our strategic growth plan to capitalize on existing renewable assets while expanding our U.S. renewable portfolio through the development of new greenfield sites," said EDI President and CEO Steve Cowman.
Expansion of the facility was carried out in partnership with Green Power EMC and Veolia ES Solid Waste, Inc. which according to the company now makes it Georgia states largest Landfill Gas to Electricity facility.
Green Power EMC is a non-profit entity that has partners with EDI in developing renewable energy sources in the state of Georgia.
This 4 MW expansion takes Green Power EMC’s portfolio of renewable energy sources to over 28 MW.
