The projects were selected by SaskPower for award of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in accordance with the SaskPower Green Options Partners Program in May 2010.
Upon SaskPower’s approval and execution of the PPAs, Kineticor will assign the PPAs to Algonquin Power, APUC’s electric generation subsidiary.
The wind power projects will be constructed near Morse, Saskatchewant, and will be supported by Kineticor during the development phase, which is expected to be completed in late 2013.
The power projects are expected to produce a combined total of 75,000MWh of electricity annually.
The company said that equipment selection and construction details have yet to be finalized and the total estimated capital cost is $55m to $60m.
