The Chicago-based Nordex will supply 125 units of its new N117-2.4MW wind turbine for the development of power project, which was initiated by local resident in 2007.

The company said the N117 is equipped with the longest rotor blade which results in an average 15% yield increase over previous products.

The wind turbines will be manufactured at the company’s recently constructed plant in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The Beebe Community Wind Farm takes a community-based approach that spreads economic benefit among local land owners through land leasing arrangements and to the greater community through tax revenue.

Phase one construction of the wind power project is slated to begin in 2012, with further phases slated for 2013 and 2014.
