Under the new program, customer can help the environment becoming green by dropping-off their old televisions for free recycling at a Sears full-line store in California.
Sears said that this service is in addition to the new haul-away service that also allows customers to have a television of any size or type picked-up directly from their home for a fee and recycled.
Customers who purchase a new television and have it delivered will be eligible for a reduced rate for haul-away, under which all televisions received will be entirely recycled.
Karen Austin, president of Home Electronics for Sears Holdings, said: “As customers continue to seek more eco-friendly ways to dispose of aging technology, we are excited to be offering a new service that allows them to live an even greener life by recycling their old televisions responsibly.”
The company said that customers can avail the at-home Sears television haul-away program by calling 1-800-664-2722 and scheduling a pick-up time. However, fee will not be charged to those customers who bring their television to a local California Sears full-line store for disposal.
