The Ve-Series module comes with 72 multicrystalline cells and has 15.5% module efficiency besides a 1000v operational certification from the Underwriters Laboratories, an independent product safety certification organization.
Suntech America president John Lefebvre said that the new line of solar panels was launched as a response to what its customers had been asking for and highlighted that the improvements in design will lower costs.
Frame thickness in the 300W series has been reduced from 50mm to 40mm resulting in 2.6lb decrease in total module weight allowing easier handling and installation.
"Success in the PV module industry is all about manufacturing efficiency and incremental innovation, and this new product again demonstrates Suntech’s ability to enhance our products year after year while continuing to reduce costs," added Lefebvre.
The 300W Ve-series will continue to remain outside the US import tariff ambit like the rest of Suntech’s portfolio.
