Upon completion, the Mahoning Creek hydro project situated on the Mahoning Creek Dam is expected to produce 20,000MWh of clean electricity annually.
Enduring Hydro CEO Kristina Johnson was quoted by TRIB LIVE as saying that the company has completed acquiring Mahoning Creek from Advanced Hydro.
"We look forward to working with them to begin construction of a project that will provide over 20,000 megawatt hours) of clean electricity annually to Western Pennsylvania," Sinclair said.
Advanced Hydro chairman and founder Rocco Di Lillo said the company’s small group of investors have worked together to make the Mahoning Creek Project viable.
"It is through the group’s efforts and vision that we celebrate the beginning of this clean, non-polluting energy source for the benefit of the families of Western Pennsylvania for several generations," Lillo said.
The construction of the project is awaiting final approval.
Advanced Hydro will provide consultancy services to the Enduring Hydro in developing the project whereas The Ruhlin Company will manage and construct it, according to the website.
