The scope of the contract includes delivery, transportation, installation and commissioning of the turbines alongside a VestasOnline Business SCADA system and a five-year service and maintenance agreement under active output management basis.
The 24MW wind farm will be located in the Basilicata region and will enhance Fri-El Green Power’s existing 471MW renewable energy portfolio.
Commenting on the contact Fri-El Green Power vice president and CEO Josef Gostner highlighted the long-standing relationship his company shared with Vestas.
Vestas Italia general manager Rainer Karan added, "This project represents an important milestone for the country with the introduction and installation of a new power generating technology.
"The V112-3.0 MW is a versatile and high-performing turbine which allows an efficient energy production and gives our customers a solid return on investment."
The company is expected to commence delivery of the turbines in the beginning of 2013 with commercial operations expected to begin in the first quarter of the same year.
