Energia Sustentavel do Brasil is the construction contractor for the 3,750MW project that is located on the Madeira River.
The utility also acquired an additional 9.9% equity holding from civil contractor Camargo Correa increasing its stake in the project from 50.1% to 60%.
Camargo Correa remains committed to the construction of the project while its shareholders have agreed to exit the project once construction risks were addressed.
