The ChargePoint Network has an open interface architecture which will enable Leviton to provide level I and II residential and public charging stations for the US and Canada EV market, will allow Siemens to offer level I and II residential and public charging stations in the US, Canada and Europe and help Aker Wade tender level III networked fast charging stations for EVs worldwide.
The ChargePoint Network will help EV drivers locate, access and use any of the partners’ charging stations via a smart phone and allow station owners to set charging session access pricing via a web enabled user interface, thereby helping the utilities manage grid load and consolidate billing.
All plug-in drivers can have access to the network of EV charging stations by making a call to the number on each charging station, or signing up for a ChargePoint Network monthly access plan and obtaining a ChargePoint ChargePass smart card. The ChargePoint Network provides authentication, management, and control for the networked EV charging stations.
