Construction of the plant was undertaken by a consortium of developers including ABB, Sulzer AG, Stucky SA, Technostroyexport and Erg Insaat.
The $1.4bn worth plant is one of the 10 projects on the Coruh River and is expected to produce 2.12 billion kWh per annum.
Ankara-based State Hydraulics Works, known as DSI, which manages river- projects for the nation, will transfer the operation of the plant to government-run producer Elektrik Uretim.
Construction of this project was started in 1997 and is scheduled to be inaugurated on 12 December 2012 by the Turkish Prime Minister, reported Bloomberg.
