The USPTO Letter of Allowance describing patent 10,506,418 adds to the company’s growing intellectual property portfolio.
The company claims that its new patent not only strengthens Cereplast’s existing patent portfolio, but also protects the composition formulation of Cereplast’s Hybrid Resins line designed primarily for durable plastic application. The new patent was initially developed by two researchers at the University of Arkansas and then further developed by the Cereplast R&D team.
“Obtaining a U.S. patent for our Hybrid Resins® line is an important step forward,” said Frederic Scheer, chairman and chief executive officer of Cereplast. “Strengthening and protecting our intellectual property not only reinforces Cereplast’s position as a leader in bioplastics, but is also an important part of our strategy for long term growth.
